2010 Urban Assault Ride

Check out this event on Aug 8th. It's a good time and you get to ride a Big Wheel! Click on image for details! Supporting this event helps support MOCA (Minneapolis Off-Road Cycling Advocates) and MORC (Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists).....two of our more active mountain bike advocacy groups in the metro area.

A lot of work got done last Sunday.

We got started on the pump track and finished up the dirt jump area. Drainage will be the next biggest thing to tackle, but might take some time for us to figure out.

The big set is dialed and a lot of fun. The other lines are fun to play on too and good for those who want to learn.

Our main focus will be to get the pump track finished. It might take a couple of week day afternoon sessions since it looks like my weekends are getting pretty busy with other activities. We will keep everyone posted on when work parties will be.

A huge thanks to all the volunteers who have been coming out and helping.

Work Party at Maple Plain on July 11th at 10am

On July 11th at 10am we plan to have a work party to continue finishing up the main jump lines and work on the pump track. We need volunteers to help do finishing work after we place dirt by machine. Our goal is to get as much of the pump track finished as we can so it's ridable.

Some swag will be given away from Behind-Bars Bike Shop, Twin-Six, and QBP.

Make sure you bring a bike because some areas are ridable and that's what this is all about.....THE RIDE!

Welcome to the Northern Dirt Riders Alliance

This is the official blog for NDRA. Expect to see many updates here for events, work party dates, rides, and anything related to progressive off-road bicycle trails. Currently we are managing 2 Dirt Jump Parks in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro, Lexington Ave Dirt Jumps in Eagan, MN and the Maple Plain Dirt Jump Park in Maple Plain, MN. Also, one of our members (Shawn Sheely) has been working with the city of Minneapolis on getting a BMX Track put in. A lot is going on right now. These projects started when the Freeriders and BMXers of Minnesota worked to get them off the ground. We will continue where that organization left off and push for more and better progressive mountain bike trails, dirt jumps, bike parks, and BMX.

We also plan to work closely with many of the local and regional organizations such as MFC (Midwest Freeride Community), MOCA (Minneapolis Off-Road Cycling Advocates), MORC (Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists), and many other independent trails in our region such as Hillside Mountain Bike Park in Elk River, MN.

Come back often and check us out as we will be working hard to progress riding opportunities in our region.
